Lesson Description

This course is designed to provide seafarers with an understanding of the hazards associated with working in confined spaces onboard a ship. Confined spaces, such as tanks, holds, and engine rooms, present unique challenges and dangers, including poor ventilation, limited access, and the potential for hazardous atmospheres. Participants will learn about a real life event which sadly ended as a fatality.

Learning Objectives

Learning Objective 1

Identify the hazards associated with working in enclosed spaces, including the potential for asphyxiation, exposure to toxic gases, and physical hazards.

Understand the risk factors and contributing factors to confined space accidents.

Understand the procedures and protocols for working safely in confined spaces, including permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and emergency response.

Your dashboard will give you access to courses you may have purchased or your company has enrolled you on. Here you can view the status of your courses if you have paused or stopped a course and can start your learning again.

Once you have completed a course, attended a live session, watched an awareness course (if applicable) your certificates will be stored in your account for download or transfer to your company HR. If you are on a company account don't worry we will keep them updated with all your certificates.

Requirements

All courses either purchased by yourself or via a company will be available in your dashboard for a maximum period of 180 days.
